Yoga is both a physical, and a spiritual, practice. By working toward the optimal alignment of our bodies, we are also seeking to “align with the divine” in order to both experience and express the Spirit of Life in our poses. By practicing together, we create a community of support and compassion. By mindful awareness, we awaken ourselves to the divine spark that is in each of us.
I began practicing yoga in 1987, completed a 108-hour immersion training at Grace Yoga Center in Cincinnati in 2007, and for a time was certified as an Anusara®-Inspired yoga teacher. Though I no longer teach, I practice daily at home each morning, and two or three times a week at Shine Yoga Center.
